What is Salsa / Cardio Salsa / Exotic Dance / Pole Work/
Lap Dance/ Casino Rueda / Salsa Body Movement / Bachata/
Street Cha-Cha & Merengue/ or Styling for Men &
Women ?
2. Do I
need a dance partner for Salsa ?
No. Salsa is not a monogamous dance to
be good at it, it is encouraged that you dance with as many
partners as possible to better your lead / follow skills.
As such, during the course, we will encourage students to
change partners to get used to leading and following a stranger.
3. Do you
have equal number of men and women in your class ?
In most cases, we do not have an equal
ratio of the sexes. However, because we encourage changing
of partners, every student has a chance to execute their
newly-learnt dance patterns on a number of partners to attain
perfection. This is practised in most dance schools both
nationwide and worldwide.
4. I have
taken some Salsa courses from other schools before. Which
course should I continue with you ?
Every individual has a unique learning
pace. It is very difficult for the instructor to gauge from
a conversation which level you belong to. It is best that
you read our course description and decide which level you
belong to.
For more assistance, come early before a class to discuss
with the instructor; or, try out a single session before
making your decision.

7. What
must I wear ?
For salsa beginners
module 1 and 2, street cha-cha & meringue/ bachata:
If you are from office, office gear will suffice. Please
ensure that you do not use slippers or flip-flops. Shoes
with ankle support are preferred. If you are from home,
gym gear or casual clothes are acceptable. No slippers,
flip-flops or shoes without ankle support.
For salsa intermediate; advance
and men's styling:
Same as above, but also avoid track shoes with soles that
provide a lot of friction.
For cardio salsa / salsa body movement:
* Gym gear (tight-fitting clothes for salsa body movement).
* Track shoes, bloch shoes or jazz shoes for cardio salsa.
* Bloch shoes or jazz shoes for salsa body movement.
Exotic Dance/ Lap Dance/ Pole Work/
Ladies' Shines and Styling:
* Gym gear, preferably tight-fitting ones to view the muscle
movements.
* Please bring a big towel for floor work and a pair of
heels with ankle straps.
* For Lap Dance Workshops and some Exotic Dance Lessons,
you are also required to bring a long sleeved button-down
shirt for stripping and/ or a pullover top.
8. What
happens if I cannot come for one of the classes during the
course ?
Each of our courses is 5 weeks' long (except
for exotic dance class which is 8 weeks' long). For most
of them (except for cardio salsa, salsa advance, casino
rueda and salsa body movement), we have courses which run
concurrently within the week which allows you to 'switch'
days within the week. (Click here
to see schedule in calendar format for a better understanding).
As for the other courses which do not have classes running
concurrently within the week, you may wish to arrange for
single session class payment instead of an entire course
fee payment.
9. What
is the difference between 'price per course' and 'price
for single session' ?
A course is made up of a series of sessions.
Price for course is the payment required for participating
in the entire course for all the sessions. For payment of
individual sessions, single session fees apply. You will
enjoy more savings by paying for entire course.
Other points to note:
1. Admission to classes (also applicable to repeat students
or assigned assistants) is strictly by production of dance
card.
2. Attitude Dance Studio reserves the right to cancel/ postpone
classes if participation is less than optimal.
3. Students are advised that they are attending all classes
at their own risk.
4. In the event that the student cannot attend any of the
classes/scheduled make-up classes (if any) ADS will not
refund any monies or calculate fees on a pro-rata basis. |
